rivets in upper ball joints, cut them???

I am about to lower my 72 chevy c/10, I am going to put all new ball joints in it, I noticed the uppers were riveted together, do I just cut them apart, or am I missing something here?

grind the rivet heads off and knock them through then use bolts to put the new ball joints in

Your new ball joints will come with the bolts and nuts.

Use an air hammer with a chisel tip and cut them. it makes it easier if you heat the heads of the rivets with a torch, then they cut like butter.
