cast heads, what are they worth?
 

i am putting on some new heads and am wondering what my old heads would be worth. i dont remember the casting numbers, but when i ran them they said that they were for a 73 sb400. 74cc chamber. 202 int valves. 160 (i think) ext valves. i took them apart 8500 miles ago and had the one bad valve seat re ground and put new seals in them. what do you think?

question 2. would 400 heads work on a 350? the gasket would cover the steam hole and seal that up, so they should be fine, right?

the 400 heads will work fine on a 350-might loose some compression compared to some other heads depending on what they replace-as for what they're worth-same as anything else,whatever someone will pay for them

Around here Chevy small block heads don't sell for much. I sold a set of ordinary heads, (very good condition) for $25. Heads can go between $50 and $100 at the local yards.
