It looks in good shape but not one pic shows the problem areas of the cab.....makes one wonder doesnt it

Joe67 04-02-2005 01:16 PM

He has alot of nice parts from that truck, seem like reasonable prices as well

joelboxt 04-02-2005 01:18 PM

read all the stuff ppl have emailed him asking about the truck.. that has more info on the rust and stuff. says its pretty much rust free. but who knows.

toms68cst 04-02-2005 01:59 PM

Why did he part out such a nice truck???

I've seen listings from sellers who buy restored tractors and part them out, I sure hope the truck hobby is not going that way already.

72gord 04-02-2005 05:18 PM

Just an observation...if it is rust free and all why did the rocker get painted door seal, sill plate and all? Just me or whats up there?

Hell if ya had a frame you could build a complete short bed stepper. I can't believe he parted such a nice original truck. I guess they're worth more in parts than complete huh?

Brainchild 04-02-2005 05:42 PM

They part out everything on Ebay.I have seen Guitars, drumsets, vehicles, china dishsets, everything sold in pieces.
Too bad you couldn't buy the whole truck in a package deal

ebfabman 04-02-2005 05:47 PM

It might be an awesome cab, but funny how the pics are cut off just above the cab corners an rockers. Hmmm......

Dean23 04-02-2005 05:48 PM

that waws my thought as well efabman. dont show the problem areas

screamin_c102 04-02-2005 05:59 PM

Did ya read the questions at the bottom? He says he is unable to take any more pics as well. I'd shy away from it just because of his inability to show the bad spots. If he was in the process of restoring the truck then he should know the bad areas to look for and should have directed the photographer to take better pics.

junkyardjohn 04-02-2005 06:08 PM

:hm: MAYBE HE'S PARTING IT BECAUSE OF A TITLE ISSUE (OR LACK THEREOF). THERE ARE SOME OLD RUSTFREE TRUCKS IN EXISTANCE. IF THIS GUY IS LYING ABOUT THIS TRUCK (& I DON'T HAVE ANY REASON TO BELIEVE HE IS) THE BUYER WILL SURE BE P!SSED AFTER BUYING & EXPECTING A RUST FREE CAB. I GUESS LIVING OUT IN THE DRY, HOT WEST WILL CAUSE YOU TO START BELIEVING PEOPLE WHEN THEY SAY COMPLETELY RUSTFREE. :hm:  JOHN

This is strange.... Yes the truck was in excellent shape for starters AND it had a BB 396 to boot. Unless I'm missing something, Doug

How could it of had a big block with a low hump cab?

dtlilly 04-02-2005 07:45 PM

The 396 is out of a Chevelle that he pulled out about 8 years ago.

Canadian694x4 04-02-2005 08:25 PM

Still seems a shame to part out a truck of that comdition. :( But some nice stuff there...

69 Short Fleet 04-02-2005 08:41 PM

dtlilly, ok I understand now (thanks).

vtblazer: I'm sorry... I didn't know you were an EXPERT on these trucks and don't make mistakes. I made a simple error and you try to make me look  ?!?!
Well that just goes to show you your

Whoa there bud... not meant as a direct response to your post at all.
You brought up a good point and I was just agreeing with you.
I was saying "how could he of HAD a bb in it" with a low hump cab, I was questioning the seller not you. Saying the seller was crazy, not you.

Wasn't trying to come off as an expert, just making an observation, sorry you took it that way...

GMC AMI 04-03-2005 07:58 AM

VT Blazer is one of the best truck guys on this board and would never intentionally
knock down or insult anyone anywhere!

69 Short Fleet 04-03-2005 08:47 AM

My apologies vtblazer, I thought you were calling me a moron (lol)! I took it the wrong way. Sorry, Regards Doug

special-K 04-03-2005 08:48 AM

I`m guessing the seller figures he`ll get more for excellent pieces(PA.rare)than for a "Plain Jane" w/o motor.I would have given $2000+/-in that form, but that`s me.Rust-free does exist in this area. There`s alot of ol`boys that knew to keep`em out of the salt and in the garage.I`ve seen rust-free bare cabs go for $1200 in PA.Still cheaper than paying a body shop to repair a rust-bucket.

.........$1200..there's a guy near me who brings back cabs from nevada and sells them for $2000 to $2500 each...now they are beautiful and rust free cabs but wow thats alot of money...they usually go quick too...

shifty 04-03-2005 07:00 PM

He has a cowl cover:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...539351777&rd=1

Someone was asking about one here on the forum recently. Auction ends in 7 hours. It's at only $20. It's a steal. Who was asking about it here?!

FRENCHBLUE72 04-03-2005 07:14 PM

Shame to see such a nice truck parted.. But some times it has to be done...
