Exhaust that exits in front of rear tires
 

Anybody have this setup? Anybody have pics?

I've had it on a previous truck...looks and sounds good, but expect to be cleaning your wheels often.

I have the exhaust on my 95 ext cab exiting in front of the rear tires. I am sure I will turn the exaust on my Jimmy out to the side also. Have turn downs on it right now and the fumes get kinda bad inside when idling lol.

it looks good on some but as they said the carbon gets on the tires/rims and depending on the wind direction it blows into the cab at times... from what ive seen you get better flow and better sound if you run them straight back. you wont be able to hear them as much but everyone else does

Looks pretty kool. Like stated earlier expect to be cleaning the rims and tires alot. I have heard its not good because it puts so much heat on the back tires, do not know if this has any truth to it or not or if its hearsay.

just recently got mine routed that way. personally i love mine this way, but its all preference. this way IIII can hear it better while i'm driving. when it was rear i couldnt hear the exhaust once i got past about 35mph because all the noise in the cab (with the windows down) was wind, but this way i can cruise with the windows down as fast as i want and still hear it well. not to mention it looks pretty mean IMHO.

contrary to screwball, it seems a little louder compared to when it was rear exhaust on mine.

I have mine in front too and like the sound level. I have not noticed any build up on my chrome rims since doing this, nor have I had any "tire" problems. You will get a little bit of fumes if the wind is right and will definately offend people at traffic lights with a stout set of duals exiting by their window. :hm:

ii havent had any tire/wheel problems with mine it has been on the truck atleast 10 years! i will get some pics later today...i havent noticed the fumes either but this is all JMO!!

I've had em that way on my 79 for a couple years now with 93+ z28 tips. The rear rims stay clean as heck. Only wish the fronts would stay as clean....

I had it that way on my 2wd 75' it sounded pretty good.One thing to think about is that the pipe is close to the gas tank,at least mine anyways. :metal:

I had always heard bad things about this but based on what i have seen here, i may try this as well on my 91 burb. I will have to rout them under the cab step that runs from front to rear wheels (need to keep them because wife has enough problems getting in as is). this would also help since my gas tank takes up the entire length from the rear axle to about 6-9" in front of the tow hitch and the entire width between the frame.
