Grande Rojo 04-14-2005 08:52 PM

bigarmzz 04-14-2005 09:02 PM

geeeeeze

that thing is a ton of cash :(

them things are really expensive....wouldnt it just be cheaper to change your rear end gears?

Hoods69BadBowTie 04-14-2005 10:45 PM

Dam, that is sweet looking. How much was it if you don't mind me asking.

You doing it for improved MPG? Did they say what you can expect from it?

Bigarmz, why would you want to change the gears in such a bad ass truck? There's nothing better than smoking someone in your old truck, especially a Lexus or Infinity.

by the way airmale....the underneath of your truck looks like its brand new!....very clean truck ya got there ;)

boxrodz 04-16-2005 02:24 AM

Nice setup.

Yeah, let's know how your combo works out.
Weren't you also working on a bag setup?

AirMale 04-16-2005 12:44 PM

I will update the GV project. Yes, I'm going to bag the front definitely but the rear suspension is still up in the air?

crossy 04-17-2005 10:28 AM

sweeeeeeeeeet

Well tonight I finally got all the wiring finished and took the truck out to break-in the new rear and Gear Vendor. It was worth every nickel seeing the tack at 2500 rpms driving 65-70mph. The overdrive came on like a factory gear...smooooth! As soon as I break in the rear some more I'll explore some manual 6 speed fun....that's all for now:)

Scrubby 06-21-2005 06:34 PM

Wow! That would be nice, but it would take a while to pay off $2500 in the gas mile savings.

crossy 06-22-2005 10:20 AM

scrubby, its not only about the gas savings. Lets say he decides to do a leg or two of the power tour . with a 16 gallon tank (shortbed) he would be stopping pretty often, and although the sound of 9 liters humming at 3200 RPM for a few miles might be music to our ears it's a little overwhelming if you want to drive few HUNDRED miles.
good job Jay - now you need one of those real purdy tranny pans so when everyone looks underneaath of it to see the GV they don't say " WTF is with that nasty looking tranny pan" . :-) , DAVE

MylilBowTie 06-22-2005 04:13 PM

How does it really work? I thought you have let off in every gear to engage it? I could be wrong but its something I never could get a strait answer on. Any way to send me a video file of it working or how it works if possible?
