WTB: Car trailer

Looking for a car trailer. 16' or 18' long. At least 80" between the fenders. If its rusty or needs a little work, thats fine , as long as its afordable.
I live 50 miles west of Philadelphia PA.

Nice collection there Randy, except the Sears ride. LOL. Please mention the range of affordability and it may help.

I'll be heading down your way in a couple of hours to pick up a 80 gallon compressor tank. I know of one. A friend bought a box trailer to replace it with. I can get the measurements, pics and price for it if you want. It was only used on weekends to tow a circle track car to the track. It's dual axle. It's up here in Jim Thorpe.

Is that long enough for a lwb truck or even a swb for that matter? It looks like that car is about as long of a wheel base as that trailer will haul.

Trailer Length

GloryHound has a point. I had a trailer with a 16' deck and it was ok for a SWB. I pulled a few LWB on it, but I had pretty good overhang on the rear. You must also be careful where your weight is and that you can get enough tongue weight forward as you need it for a safe tow. I now have 18' and it will accomadate a LWB, but it fills the deck.

if he doesnt want that one how much is it? im looking into these too...

badone07 04-25-2005 02:51 AM

the car in the pic has a 112" wheelbase (older chevelle chassis). but he did ask "car" hauler. the whole thing is like 17' 4". 67ChevyC10Stepside, i'll let you know when he gets back to me.

Mine has a 20' deck, about 24' overall, but it's not for sale.

Hey, I would like to take a look at that trailer. I need 80" inbetween the fenders so i can fit a 4x4 truck with 31-10.50 15's on it. And 7000lb GVW's. I said car trailer, but i guess i meant truck trailer.

OLDCHEV4X4 04-25-2005 06:18 AM

I think its too short. The deck is only 12' long.
