cab swap info

anyone know if there is a huge difference in the main cab assembly from an 88-94 vs. 95-99, i realize the interiors will be different but is there any other major changes that will hamper me, i am trying to rebuild my 89 swb 2 wheeler and can get my hands on a solid cab from a 96 and vs. rebuilding corners and rockers and then media blasting the poor peel paint it would possibly save me some head aches albeit time consuming (but my spare time costs me nothing so) i am wanting to build just short of a show truck as i want to drive it during the nice part of the year! thanks

I'm putting the finishing touches on an interior swap from a 98 into a 90 GMC. On a regular cab the interiors are interchangeable from the latch pillar back. If you are keeping your doors you will need the inner door panel that the window mechanism is attached to and trim a small section of sheet metal in the door body to make it fit.

Wiring is completely different, all the relays are located under the hood on the 96. My truck is a diesel with no computer and the 700r4 lock-up is an aftermarket set-up. The only modification I had to make was in the AC system where two circuits were getting their ground through the PMC and I wired them to a relay. If you are comfortable with wiring diagrams (put them side by side) you will have no problem.
Good Luck

There is not enough of a difference to make it a hassle.
Get the newest cab that you can find.
Posted the link above just in case that might be a better deal for you.

actaully found another party that has 6 of these no hassle $1,000 bucks plus he has some other stuff i need, what i am thinking is using the earlier interior/wiring etc, as i have all the stuff i need between the one that is the project (still driving) and one i bought as a wreck for etc... stuff as i go, and am wondering what major issues i might encounter with things like mounting the dash etc... also where is a good source for the wiring diagrams, i am going to use the tbi 5.7 as i have a plentitude of parts, i might be on to a 95 cab that has everything but the door panels/doors but am thinking that as i want buckets/console that no matter what i do, i will be doing some surgery to mount those!
