alternator

Need some help. According to my mechanic my truck is wired incorrectly at the alternator. Can someone please explain where the wire from the bolt on the back of the alternator goes and the two wires from the plastic clip from the alternator?

Thanks for all the help.

I think that is inacurate for trucks. I am pretty sure the power T's off to the horn relay on these...that looks to be a car schematic to me.

Jones, I think your trucks has been converted to an internally regulated set up.
That plug, are the two spades in it like this - - or are they like this ||
If it is tha latter, then you have messed up mickey mouse wireing. If it is the former, then you have a home brewed conversion that may or may not have been done properly.

They are like this --
They previous owner had one of the - going to the starter the other was not connected.
AND a red wire going off the back bolt on the alt going to the drivers side cab.

They way I have it now is the way my mechanic friend suggested. I have a clip that fits the -- connector and one is going to the starter and one to the bolt on the back of the alt. Then there is another off the bolt going to the cab (or towards the drivers side of the engine compartment which I assumes goes inside the cab). Is this confusing enough. I dont know if pics would help but I am confused.

Thanks for your replys. I have repaired a lot of hokey stuff that someone has done on this truck by reading this site and asking questions. Great place for info and help.
