cab weight?

Anyone know what a stripped, nothing but the metal, cab weighs? no doors no glass, no column, no nothing... just the cab... any ideas?

Not Too Heavy

I think the scale might be off, my 69 bare cab had to come off the frame, for the 4th or 5th time, and two of us lifted and moved it off the frame wasn't easy but we did it and I know I can't lift 280lbs.

I think I remember Ed having a mid 60's cab shipped and him saying it weighing 453lbs.

Four of us lifted my cab off of my frame and put it in the back of my pickup and I can tell you it was lighter than the shortbox bed (steel floor).

You might be surprised......4 guys lifted the cab off my longhorn (duck soup). In my late 20's to mid 30's,I did some lifting. picked up a 351 Windsor for a builder(500-525 on the weight). The guys at the boneyard are asking "how are we going to load this"? Lets pick it up & set it on the old truck......well, a 185 lb me had 1 end of that Ford, & 2 freakin idiots had the other end! If you havent guessed it, there were too d@mn many feet on the other end(a couple of *****s too!) we got it loaded, but it was a little "spooky"! Me & one old stout 18yr old kid carried complete SB Chevs updown the basement steps(many moons ago). I did a box swap on a 71.....2 guys, off /on with a steel box! nothin like being 20 yrs old :metal: ..... L

Many years ago when I was young and stupid, I picked up a 390 Ford long block and loaded it by myself.
It's a wonder I didn't ruin my back for life. Now when I need a cab or bed moved, I have my son call a few of his teenage friends and I supervise ;)

Well, a heart attack last fall slowed this old man down a tad.....still, neither one of my boys are big enough to "jack with the cardiac patient"! That youngest (15 yr old kid) is gonna be a "bruiser"......15yrs old, goin 6' & 220 lbs, that kid is not done growing yet! The oldest is about 6' 2", & about 185lbs. Its a real biotch, when I have to ask for a hand , on chit I have done all my life, BY MY D@MN SELF! Those kids have been pretty good tho.......& that is really what makes the world go around ;) L

me and one buddy picked up and carried my lwb steel floor bed the biggest problem was the weight being off center and the bed wanting to tilt forward but we got it. i am still 21 and stupid lol. picked up and amc 304 short block not long ago and damn was that thing heavy.2 guys can move the cab two stout guys at least. the weight isnt centered so its a biotch as well
