62 three speed tranny question
My son's 62 Chevy 3/4 ton pickup has a 3 speed tranny that could use a new bushing for the tailstock output shaft. It's pretty sloppy, and has some vibration going down the road. I had the tranny apart last year to swap out a gear, but couldn't find a bushing at that time. Any suggestions on where I can find this bushing?

You might try these people: ManTrans I don't know if they go that far back or not, but they might. I've dealt with them before, real nice people to me. Best of luck.

Tom, are you sure it should have a bushing. The tranny in my '64 is an older year tranny a PO installed. A few years ago, i replaced the needle barrings in it. Purchased a rebuild kit from a place in OKla City called Bloomington, or Bloomingberg,,,something like that. Huge place just south of I-40 downtown. Anyway, according to them, mine don't have a tailshaft bushing.

Could be your drive line is out of balance? My two cents worth... rico_bob

drive line
It's possible, but think that the bushing is worn. I suppose there's a book somewhere with some specs for tolerences... will have to investigate more someday. Thanks.
