finally took the plunge and dropped my truck!
 

I finally decided to lower my 69 GMC the other day. I got tired of it looking the same so I lowered it about 3" in the rear and about 2" or 3" in the front. It seems like it rides better to me but the front end needs alignment. Here's a couple of pics before and after. The before pic is actually of the passenger side I just flipped it to compare with the pic of the driver side. What do you think?

Looks much better dropped, but ive always been a dropped kind of guy.

I like it. My dad just lowered his a few weeks back and it looks and handles great.

mine is real close to the same stance & rides great. thats the way they should have came from the factory IMO

Man, I love those wheels. So old school, but soon to be new school, what's old is new again. Just look at all the new "racing" wheels on the ricers, they are all very resemblant of the old turbines, more and more skinny spokes every day.

But, back on topic, your truck looks sweet with its new stance...good job!

I had some 15 x 7 on the front and 15 X 10 slotted aluminum wheels to start with but got tired of them plus wanted some that aren't so wide and easier to find tires for. The bad thing is the ones I got now don't match, The rears are 15X8 and have 15 fins but the front are 15X7.5 and have 30 fins. I was at a junkyard yesterday and found a complete set similar to the ones I got on the rear. The yard was closed though so I couldn't check on them. I wanted something totaly different when I started this truck. I didn't have a "plan" it has been mostly a "design as you go" project. It's been more fun that way becasue I don't really know for sure what it will look like when finished. I do have a few more ideas I'm going to try when I get the time and $$$. One thing definite, is to find four matching wheels that are not like somebody elses. Now if you really want to see it when it was U-G-L-Y, here it is from summer 2003. I had just got the engine in it and made the first mod by filling the tail lights and recessing the rear bumber to make the roll pan.

Man you have made a great inprovement from the start! :jdp: I can understand wanting something different than you see everyday. And I do think that is a good thing ;) I hate seeing cookie cutter trucks!
