son's truck vs. ambulance

After I finished my earlier '67 I sold it to my son. I've posted pictures of it here before. It has a beautiful Viper red paint job. Well Monday he see's a ambulance coming up behind him with lights and siren. He pulls off the side of the road and stops. The ambulance makes a right turn and clips the front fender and pulls that shiney new bumper off. Then they have the gall to say he hit them. The cop was taking their side until the driver of an 18 wheeler called and said he witnessed the whole thing. Bad enough to hit someone but then lie about it. The physical evidence showed it couldn't have happened the way they said.

Bummer, I hate to see those 67's get hurt. I hope the damage wasn't too bad, and I hope nobody got hurt!

Aww damn that's horrible. Li'l bastards.... and to think they might save your life. "No i swear he was dead when we got here" Grrr

Kinda frightening is the real fact that more people die from medical malpractice and mishaps and misdiagnosis etc PER year than the number of auto accidents, gun accidents and many other accidents combined. A history teacher had a thing about that a while ago. He said that more people die per year from medical woopsies than did in the vietnam war. Kinda scary and i know i got sorta off topic, sorry fellas

Thats not right. I can just imagine how your son would feel if that truck driver had not come forward because the majority of people would in general side w/the more experienced professional ambulance driver & not the inexperienced kid. I'm glad the driver that witnessed it was thoughtful enough to come forward( if only more people would do the same!).

I hope it didn't do too much damage to the truck.
It is a horrible feeling to know that you're in the right, but somebody doesn't believe you. Some jerk ran a red light and t-boned my wife's car, only to get out and start yelling at her that he had the green. Thank goodness for good samaritans that witness the accident and tell how it really was.

I would push to make sure they were charged with lying to the officer,( making false report) and even try to get them fired from their job. I would call the station and suggest they send that officer back to school to get some retraining as from what you have said about the only thing I think this officer could catch is a cold. I would also make them pay thru the nose to get the truck fixed. It just pisses me off that people in these type of positiions try and use their standing to get out of things they do wrong.

Probably did get fired. I'm sure that's a bad thing for an ambulance driver to be at fault in an accident, probably why he tried to lie too. F*ck'm, he should have been a better driver.

that sucks.

That sucks dude. I almost got T-boned in my S-10 last night. Some guy ran a redlight, he was way, way late and was movin bout 60mph in a 45. The woman in the lane next to me almost hit him, i got my truck stopped alot quicker. I saw that woman at the next stop light, she was cryin and everything else. I was pissed right after it happend. I guess we all make mistakes. You'd think that the EMT wouldn't lie about it. Also, think about what all might have been going on inside that ambulance. He may have honestly thought it was the other guys fault, when infact it was his. Glad it all got worked out right though.

Probably driving one of them Ford ambulances and got jealous.

Sorry to hear about it, good to hear that some folks (the truck driver) still care.
