speedo gear
:new:
i have a 78 chevy C10 w/350 my speedo died on me a wile back and i found that the gear on the driveshaft has moved way out of place. i was wondering if there is an easy way to get it back where it belongs without taking a U-joint off. thanks Matt |
if you're lucky like i was, then stick 2 of your fingers in the transmission where the cable connects and feel down in there for them, i had the truck for two weeks, then i thought i guess i need to get the speedo working, i took the cable off, spun it, it registered on the speedo, cable good, i feel down in there, its just down in there, pull it out go around the block, make a short story long, now the speedo works

If your tranny is a turbo 350, remove the drive shaft, take off the 4 bolts that hold the tail cone on the back of the tranny, the plastic gear is held on by a clip.
