Don't have any current of the 70 working, since it is aprat at the moment, but here is one of it doing some light work and a couple of the 96 getting into it. The sod was alot, although I have no idea of the actual weight. I have yet to get it to squat that way again, even with all the other stuff I have hauled with it.

Jim how do those boys run empty, cuz they sure don't look like the squat much under load? (I like that :D )

JIMs70GMC 06-21-2005 05:37 AM

Bill,
The Chevy has stock rear springs, on the GMC I added an add-a-leaf and it is noticeably stiffer. I think the sidewalls of the tires help, a little. Since I put the stepside on the gmc I also replaced the rear springs w/ 4" lift rears from tuff country, a noticable improvement. I plan on putting the add-a-leaf on the Chevy.

Should have taken a pic of mine with a yard of mulch this past spring. That's probably the most it's hauled so far.

Did this today, picked up 1 yd. of crush n run, it was little wet:

Right now there's a load of cinder blocks(approx. 50) from the 1940s in the back, damn things have to weigh 45lbs each, not solid blocks but the holes are small compared to todays blocks.

vtblazer 08-26-2005 06:29 AM

So Jim, you don't need blinkers down there in VA?? :hm:  J/K

Great trucks your running!!

special-K 08-26-2005 08:35 AM

You just need reflectors on your hand to be legal at night.

JIMs70GMC 08-26-2005 08:45 PM

I guess I'm kinda pushing it. I have the parking lights and a 70 grill w/ lights. But like Special K said watch for the hand signals.
