New Wheels and tires....

Well it rained here all day, but I still managed to get the new wheels and tires on my truck... What do you think? I think it is a great improvement.

Wes, you meaned it rained in Washington state today?

I thought it never rained in Washington................. no wait,

"it never rains in California", that's it.

Wheels made the copper truck look much better.

You're stuck on those wheels aren't you? J/k They look great on the truck. I like the stock look also. I'd probably keep both sets around. My buddy does that with his 66 Vette, he has a set of tires mounted to Corvette rally wheels, but he usually runs American Racing wheels with BFG radial TA's

Thanks guys, No, not stuck on them... Just get a great deal on them, and I like how they look... WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

Looks Great Wes ,if I didn't get a good deal on the Eagles ,those were my second choice for BB .

Thanks Bill, They should look a lot better after I paint the rear axles silver. I then will cut a hole in the center of a pair of center caps so that the rear more closely matches the front. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

Bill72BB 07-09-2005 11:39 AM

Wes ; can you shim the back caps and use longer nut's ??

1STtimePRo'71 07-09-2005 12:16 PM

Definately an inprovement.

Classic Heartbeat 07-09-2005 01:15 PM

The only thing that could be done is to space the wheels out about 1 1/2". That would alow the plastic lug nuts to reach the steel ones. I don't like spacers though. I contimplated, experimented, and otherwise frustrated over this problem on the "Garden Truck". I would love to be able to not cut the centers out, but haven't figured out how. The rear axle doesn't look bad painted either. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

Well I just modified the rear center caps. This is how they turned out. A little silver paint on the axle and I don't think it looks too bad... WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com
