need help converting to manual brakes ASAP!

working on my derby truck today, i got the motor and trans in and started to put the headers on. i ran into a problem, the power brake booster. i removed it, and bolted the master cylinder directly to the firewall. does anyone know if this is going to work if i can find or rig a pushrod to it, or am i going to have to convert to a manual brake master cylinder in order for it to work. keep in mind that this truck wont be street driven, will never see speeds of over 30 mph, and well, hitting other vehicles isnt a problem. i just need it to stop well enough to load onto the trailer, pass inspection, and make my way safely into the derby pit.

If you can get a rod to actuate it, I don't think you will have a problem with the application you are using it for. No reason to put more money into it just to smash it right?

Chris, you think its possible to grind down an existing rod out of the back of another power booster? i've got a hydroboost setup here that im going to rob of some of its hoses and fittings to make the 86 power steering pump work with the 73 box. the booster itself is junk, so stealing the rod out of it wouldnt be that big of a deal.

Jeremy, I can check the garage and find my manual setup. If I can find it I will give you a measurement. I don't think it would be that big a deal though.

I looked for it last night and couldn't find it. :banghead: There is one more place I didn't look though.
