Need something to hold my balls....

Hey all,
I've been installing a Vintage Air A/C system in my 69 GMC. It was an A/C camper model at one time, but when I got it, the A/C parts were gone. While installing my shiny new balls (vents), I came under the realization that I needed the original part that cupped my balls between my hose adapter and the shiny new external vent piece. VA couldn't point me in any direction for a reproduction...but I know all you expert scavangers could help.

If you got em, that's great, or if you know where to get em, that's great too!

Thanks,
Brad

Welcome from Central Texas...

Had the same problem with holding my balls too, in my Vintage Air installation that is. I bought mine from Wes at Classic Heartbeat for about $10 each.

67-72 A/C Deflector Ball Hose Adapter
Description: High quality parts.
Price: $9.95ea.

That's it above.... The GM balls and ball holders are the same as the aftermarket balls and ball holders.

My wife loves 'em. (had to go there)

Brad, where do you live?

panhandler62 07-21-2005 01:36 PM

I have a non-ac cab.. guess that means I.. nope.. not gonna say it ......

phlegm 07-21-2005 02:24 PM

I can't think of it but there is an air rapidly moving out of the system (ie the wind b..ws) joke in here somewhere that is going to get this thread moved.

rage'nrat638 07-21-2005 09:14 PM

what about the fuzzy felt that keeps your balls in place......
other wise your balls will flop around.....
i have a 100 ft roll of a/c ball felt........
your pal mark

Putter 07-22-2005 09:52 AM

So, you have the BALL FUZZ that everyone is talking about? Doesn't that make them sweat?? I mean, no one wants to reach up and adjust a sweaty ball!!!...all drippy....and...nevermind

panhandler62 07-22-2005 10:13 AM

uh...

As a serious comment.. You can get velcro in little self stick strips. The fuzzy side works well for this kind of application. I use it on my telescope mount to permit smooth movement (yeah.. another hobby to eat all my money.. lol )

hgs_notes 07-22-2005 10:18 AM

You just gotta love "smooth movement".

If you want your balls held in place properly, may I suggest a board member? That's right, and since your a first timer, I'm sure your virgin to the concept that we like to get our ball holders from our wonderful vendors list that support this wonderful community. If they can not supply you with the proper ball holding equipment, I'm sure another member would be able to sell you a good, slighty used, (may need some cleaning/degreasing) ball holders. If I am ever able to afford an AC unit *snicker-unit-snicker* I will be turing to this board for help in finding a good set of balls and ball holders, I would prefer new balls, of course. Good luck in finding a good set of ball holders.
