Blazer frame differences.....
2 Attachment(s)
I have been working on the 2WD Blazer frame today and after some comparing the two vs. the four, I noticed that the rear of the frame is different. The pics should explain. I guess I am going to have to cut the 2WD frame down to match the 4WD. Any explantions??? Later, FCG

Well pic #1 is a 72 frame, I know because "GQ" looks like that, except
your bumper mount tabs look bent out, you only use the outer bracket with this set up, the bumper goes directly to that frame mount, I can go get a pic of mine if you need it, I WOULD NOT CUT IT, kinda rare. |
Frame
I (THINK) they changed the frame in 71. My 70 2wd has the squared off frame in back.

So, do I need to trim the body to fit around the frame. There is a piece of metal that run side to side on the Blazer that looks to hang too low. I guess I can trim that a little and not cut the frame. Whatchathink??? Later, FCG

Is that the inner lip or the outer? my outer is notched for the frame, looks like inner is 2 ;)

That is the inner. I guess that means I would need to notch the body as well. It might be better to go ahead and cut the frame since the Blazer already has a pretty good paint job. I don't want to repaint until next year. Later, FCG

I say cut the frame . I ran into the same trouble when i replaced the tub on my blazer the new tub had no notch my frame is a 72 4x4 .My remedy was to body lift it 2 inches but it seems you are going the other way .

If you cut them off I wouldnt mind taking them off your hands I have an older frame with a 72 tub and would like to make it like the 72 origanly was
