coil to leaf and frame width questions

I have a 1972 C10 that has a coil spring rear. I want to convert it to a leaf spring suspension and use a 14 bolt FF axle from the 73-87 trucks. I measured the rear of the frame and it measured just a bit more than 34", I believe that's the same width as the 73+ trucks. I have many spring hangers that I've saved from 73+ trucks so the shackle mount should be a direct fit.

What about the front spring mount for the rear spring? Is the frame the same width there as it is in the rear?

I remember seeing a website that has a truck in their showroom with a coil spring on one side and leaf spring on the other on the same truck, anyone have a link?

Does anyone have a picture showing where the front spring hanger for the rear spring mounts on the frame for a 4x4 truck?

The website your looking for is www.earlyclassic.com. Go to the tech pages and the article is titled Spring Time.

both Chevy and GMC came with rear leafs. my 71 frame has rear leafs. You can buy the hangers, shackles, springs, etc. from board members. What is the width of a 73 spring? Are the holes for the leaf hardware already in the frame?
