gas tank sending units

i am going to need a new sending unit to get my drivers side tank working. my question is can i use a sending unit from a munaul tranny for my auto. ti diff is that the auto has 3 hoses and the manual has 2 hoses. where does the 3rd gas hose go to?

thanks

it was a return line used on some trucks... if you capped it off you should be o.k.

FWIW, I just took out my leaking gas tank this weekend. It's a manual shift, but the sending unit has 3 outlets. The sender in the replacement tank I got also has 3 outlets. They are feed line, return line, and vent. If your truck doesn't have a return line, you can just cap off that line on the sender.

(P.S. if you're looking for a 3 outlet sending unit, PM me. I'll be selling my extra one.)
