Anybody know who makes this mag?

looks like the american racing wheels you can get at discount tire.

American Racing model AR 136 if my memory serves me correctly.

It looks a lot like the AR 136 but the center section of my wheels are round and the lug nuts are tight against the center hole. Its a small difference but it doesn't look the same as the wheel on the AMR website. :confused:

It looks like something that Ultra used to make when I was in high school.

Don't use the distance from the lug nuts to the center hole as a judge to determine that they are not the AR 136's. If you have a tight bolt pattern the holes will be close, but if you have a more open bolt pattern they will be farther away from the center hole.
Example 5x4.5" will be closer to the center hole than 5x5"

Thats what I'm afraid of shifty. I really love the mags but I have no spare tire and if anything happened to one of them I would be in bad shape. Thats why I'm trying to id them. I removed one of them and cleaned the inside of the wheel. I brushed it with a bronze brush and could not find a manuf. name anywhere. Here is what I found around the inside of the center rim. (1 15x10 , O.W.I. , DOT-T, not to exceed 40 psi, max wheel load not to exceed 1900 lbs) Inside two of the spokes was stamped A8196 and BH1996. I feel like an archeologist trying to I.D. some ancient unkown artifact. :help:

i had the same problem with a gmc safari van a few years ago. i had new tires put on and the tire shop broke one of my wheels (of course they wouldn't admit it). they went ahead and sent my wife home with a 5" by 1/2" chunk missing out of the inside edge. it had the same vague numbers and no brand name. even the dealership where i bought the van new could not identify it. i never did get a matching replacement. good luck but don't hold your breath.

I know one of a few companies makes this wheel:

Prime, Ultra, Eagle (American Eagle), American Racing.

I swear it's Prime or Ultra. I can't find anything at either site, probably because it's discontinued. It was really popular around the time thoese damned sawblade rims were big.

NOTE: both of the wheels in the pictures are 5-lugs. I would almost bet that if you'd find a picture of the Eagle Venturas in a 6-lug pattern they'd match what you got.

Ran in to this same problem a year ago..... bought a 41 chev flatbed hotrod that a guy had lost interest in, had a set of "ultras" on the front which I wanted to match.... looked and looked & was told they're not made anymore.... the AR"s are pretty close with exception of how the "spokes" tie in to the rim... the Ultras are straight whereas the AR's have a bit of an angled sweep to them.

Well I went by an American Racing Wheel dealer today and he said it was definately not his wheel. He said it was probably an old Ultra but they don't make that wheel anymore. So, thanks to all you guys for your help but I guess I'll have to keep looking around and maybe I can turn one up.

If you pop the tire off the bead, there should be some identification cast/stamped into the area between the beads. There may also be a part number somewhere on the inside of the rim. Worked in a tire shop while goin' thru school years ago & saw a lot of those markings.
