Got Leak?
 
Well not to long ago I posted that I had just put in my freshly rebuilt 402 well when I nput in the rear main seal I noticed how crappy of a design it was...... well it is leaking now and I was wondering has anybody else had this problem and if so how did you fix it?

Just built a + .030 402 without in leaks (so far). Used the regular seal. Did you put any sealer on the main cap at the rear?

Id say you have to pull the rear main and put a new one in.

Yeah I think when I pull the tranny, which is soon very soon. But do ya'll have anymore tips on how to get in and have it not leak?

Are you sure it is the rear main? Could be rear cam plug or back of intake or one of the rear plugs for lifter oil passges. When you have trans out check all these first.
