frame dimension?
does anyone know of the differences between an 82 chevy swb frame and the frame of a 88 k-5 blazer? or know of a website that has this info?
|
the k5 is alot shorter i seen a guy put a truck cab on the k5 frame and narrow the bed alot and i got 2 trucks like this at work one is a 2wd the other is a 4x4 but there been out back at work for years ill try and get a side shot for u

LOTS K5 wheelbase is 106.5" a C/K10 wheelbase is 117.5"
This is a SWB C10: http://www.captkaoscustoms.com/images/b4blasting2.jpg This is a '82 K5 2WD: 4x4 will have taller spring perches in back and there will be some in front. The frame rails will be the same though. http://www.captkaoscustoms.com/image...er2wdframe.jpg |
the reason i ask is cause i want my blazer to be 2wd and my p/u to be 4x4...just thought that maybe i could swap frames.....guess not. but i can swap suspensions.....hardest part is changing the front to 2wd

Can you (or anyone) confirm that the frame and springs are the same and just the perches are different... I am trying to figure out if a FACTORY 2WD Blazer from is the same as a C10... FROM The FRONT perch of the rear springs... Are the holes in the frame in the same location for the front perch? Does anyone have some frame diagrams to compare>>>>> 1978 C10 SWB 1978 K5 Blazer 2WD |
Re: frame dimension?
A pickup frame and a Blazer frame are completely different. Pickup frame is longer and in the rear narraower. The only thing that is the "same" is from the front cab mount forward.
