What I'm Trying to Build

Here's the look I'm going for with my '61. Yes, the wheels are a little exagerated. What do you think of the wheel arches and the bed?:

I think if it had the stock door shape at the top and a little more bed it would loook sweet.

I see now, the one piece side glass, makes teh top of the door look exactly like a 552nd-59 chevy door.

I rounded the upper door corners because the square corners looked like turds after I shaved the drip-rail. On the real thing I've also rounded the lower-rear corner. The passanger-side can be seen complete in my sig link. It does make it look more like 55-59 doors.

damn frizzle fry!

Your truck is insane! I absolutly love it! Your wheels are a little big in your rendering, but I checked out the pix of your actual truck that all I have to say is damn! Looks like a crazy swap!

I do have 2 questions for you though....

1. what are your plans for your bumper? I see you sections the center section? Looks cool just wondering what future plans are for it.

2 what did you use for front fender openings? That looks sooo sick! I thought about changing the wheel openings in front and back but was at loss to what to use.

Thanks
Keith

Thanks squarecan. I will fill that section of the bumper in with similar gauge metal, then smooth. I don't know if I will chrome or paint it yet. Also not sure if I will install round fog lights in it or not. I had already modified the front frame "horns" to drop and recess the bumper position. Now those sections of frame are mounted to the vette frame.

I used 67-72 arches, but had to modify them below the 67-72 lower trim line. PM if you want more details/pics. I plan to do the rears the same way as you can see in the concept. :metal:

Very cool!

What part of hillsboro do you live in? I work out that direction. I can't wait to see it all together and rolling!

I myself would go back to classic looking, but it ain't my truck, is it? Nice. I like it. It has just the subtle things that make it look bad @$$.

I love the classic look too. This is the direction I went with this one though. My Sub is going to keep that classic look with all the trim, bumpers, handles, two tone and such. I am trying to do sublte things, but lots of them, so when it's done it will be hard to pin-point exactly why it looks different. If I do another 60-66 it'll be a mostly orig short/fleet big window. :fro:
