Fuel transfer
I have approx. 8 gallons of gas in my old tank and I want to safely transfer "some" of it into my new one. Does anyone have any great ideas on how to do this safely? AND, what the heck do I do with the old tank??

Pull out the tank with the help of a friend, dump it into some clear containers. Class or ceramic mixing bowls are great, the gas wahes off of them real wasy.
The reason I say to do that, once you see all the ca-ca floating in the fuel, you won't dare pour it into a new tank. As for disposal of your old tank, you could let it air out a few days and try throwing it out, but they probably won't take it. Call a radiater shop, ask what they would do with it. |
Im guessing its become "the old tank" because its rusted out?
In that case dont bother re using it man, not worth the $10 to fill you fuel filter or carb full of junk. Stick it in the lawn mower. You can buy $1 plastic syphons at parts stores if you insist on doing it. CoryM |
