Parting out 1971 C10 Shortbed.

Picked it up yesterday (well, it was delivered).

It's the black one. In an effort to get me motivated on building the new chassis and cab, I am ripping the running truck apart.

So, let me know what you need, and we'll go from there.

I am going to build a new bed for it, so the existing one is available, too.

Tilt, is not for grabs. 402 BBC (Kurt said it's rebuilt) is a possiblity, as I have a 468BBC that may go in it. 10Bolt rear with 3.73's is up for grabs, too.

The bed's pretty trashed. Rotted through on both bedsides, floor could be patched, front wall and supports are OK.

70c10swb 08-17-2005 06:29 PM

oh ok

kind of hard to find a good bed around here :whine:

FormerMember 08-17-2005 08:08 PM

I'll be building myself one.

This could be repairable, but I am going for NO rot.

YOu could have this bed, sheet metal only with tail gate for 250.00

Hard to give prices without knowing what you want. Also hard to take pics without knowing, isn't it?

Sorry Mike, I missed this.

Front fenders are in good shape (AFAIK) and available. I am going to a 67 front clip, if I can get it out of NJ.

edit:

Pics and changing from great shape to good, as they could use some love.

100 for both. 250 for the whole front clip, including a good radiator support, grill, outer grill assemby, headlight buckets and stock/factory transmission cooler with lines.

any pics of the bed?

I'll take some today.

edit, here's the pics.

As you can see, the bed floor is rough as are the sides. Someone more skilled than I could probably clean it up. I also have a tail gate (that goes with) in similiar shape.

arkracing 08-22-2005 08:52 AM

What do you have in the for 5 lug coil rear ends??? and how much?

I have two of them, both 3.73's (so I think). One on that chassis that's being replaced by a stout 9" and the one on the black truck that drove in here, towing the chassis.

250 for the one out of that black truck.

350 for the one out of the chassis that's already been cleaned up, painted and detailed.

Both are complete, drum to drum.

looks decent from the pics. So what do you mean by "rough" as in banged up or as in rotted?

BTW where in NH are you.

I mean rough in that it's more work than I would want to put into it. It's bubbling through in some areas.

I am near Derry, NH.
