I spent all day Saturday and most of Sunday working in my yard. Daaang it's hot out there. That's about it for me.

Tightned the belt for my A/C, and sprayed carb cleaner up into the clutch and that cleaned a bunch of crap outta it, so my A/C is blowing without squealing the belt...
.... for me to turn around and break the stupid little knob for the blower motor swtich. It's stuck on high, so sometimes it blows high and sometimes it doesn't blow (cause the switch has been jank for forever). So I get to order a new switch / pay Southern Chevrolet out the a$$ for a whole new switch. Worked on homework since we started school on Thursday. |
Not much truck work, finnished off getting my bucket seats in. Still have to work on the console to get to sit flat on the floor. Went to a cruise Saturday night (my buddy had to drive home because I was drunk :metal: )was going to go to one tonight but was cancelled due to rain. :whine:

Did not do too much. Hurt my back before I retired from General Tire And Rubber Co. and I did something while lifting a push mower into the back of my truck so I am kinda down for awhile. Did mow the grass (two acres) and that did not help. Now I am just taking it easy. :(

unmounted the stepside bed off the new toy-for sale in forum now, power washed the old girl and starting making notes for the fall/winter on what I maight need to get into her. Washed the vehicles in the yard, cut some grass and broke the weed-eater (sounds like a crotch rocket now) and fixed the grill for the new 41 plymouth, uggghhh!!! Thats all for this year... :rolleyes: My props go out to the new powerball for saving me time!!!

took the 3 week old reman. starter off and put another one on, somehow the bolts holding the solenoid on had loosened up, one was off (nowhere to be found), and the other was 7/8's of the way out, also bought a glove box, primered it and put it on the truck

Well, I placed a free classified ad in the paper listing my free full K5 hardtop, and a guy called Saturday around 11:00 and it was gone by noon. Then I brought my van home and packed the rest of my misc. parts into it so now I have a place to park the K5 where the parts pile used to be, and it's gravel so it's a nice place to work on it too. Also had a nice bonfire with the wood I cleaned out of that area.

sat spent all day buildin a one off console for 2 15's in my truck i needed more bass because 4 12s didnt cut it at all, sun went ridin around and noticed that my stereo made a rock chip grow bigger

Performed the final wreck-out on a '83 C30 parts truck. Cab is getting picked up next weekend.
Of course... now the frame is in perfect shape. Can't just throw that away :rolleyes: My '66 C10's frame might be bent. :hmm: Is a spare frame really an excuse to do a frame swap? :crazy: |
Got the truck running again, the Turbo400 works like a dream, and I rebuilt it all myself. I feel really good about it, but then today my speedo cable broke so I am just running off of the motor RPM for MPH. Oh and I changed a motor mount, the other one looked good enough and i didn't feel like messing with it, and thats about it.

I went in to work for a while on Sat (again). Seems I've been spending a lot of time there so when I was done I picked up some lunch for me & the GF & spent the rest of the day w/her just relaxing around the house & sitting around the pool.
Today I had plans to pick up my new to me Olehausen 8ft pool table. My lil bro was supposed to help me get it but was a no show. I called a buddy from work @ the last minute & he helped me get it done. It took 4hrs to disassemble, load, move, un-load, & partially reassemble again. Not bad considering we spent an hour on the road. The local billiards place wanted $375 to do the job & will only do it during 8-5 M-F. So . . ..... no work on the trucks, but now I have an extra $375 to get a valve job on those 882's sitting in the garage & that should help get my 68 beater back on the road. |
I enjoyed the hottest day we have had this year -- 32 degrees celcius in the shade baby! I was in heaven, as compared to the past few weeks where we have barely even seen 5 degrees (brrrr!)
I got my fuel tank installed, and plumbed, only one leak, but an o-ring fixed that problem :) Hung my exhaust, changed the fluid and filter in my transmission, added oil, coolant, power steering fluid, then got behind the steering wheel, and hit the starter. Nothing. Not even a little hiccup. I did some testing, and determined that my injectors were not pulsing, and that my injectors were suffering from a dead short in their wiring. I proceeded to tear the upper intake, runners, and fuel rail off to gain access to the injector wiring, found my short, set everything up to give it a bench test (try and start it with the intake apart, and the bottom of the injectors in view, to see if they pulsed, and released fuel). Primed the fuel pump, then hit the starter -- POOF. My truck suddenly lost all power. I then decided I had caused enough damage for one day, and shut things down in disgust. I figured I had blown my fusible link off the starter, and was envisioning myself removing my pass side exhaust to get access to it to replace it. I then remembered an odd quirk my truck has, if I ever short something out, my negative battery terminal ceases to conduct until you give it a quick twist. Ran outside, gave it a twist, and suddenly everything was back. I discovered that the wire I had for my electric fans had lost it's marret, and had touched the frame. This morning I headed off to Napa to order some new intake gaskets, then went to a church bbq. After that, I came home and tried another bench test making sure that the electric fan wire was well insulated. Nothing. I then headed off to Napa to get the gaskets I had ordered, and to rent a noid light kit. Came home, and tested my wiring, the noid kit confirmed that it was all working as it should. I then went through a long troubleshooting procedure to figure out what was causing the ECM not to pulse the injectors. I discovered that my ECM is no good. I attempted to run a few diagnostics on the ECM, but it fails to respond. Jumping the ALDL does not put the truck into it's code displaying mode, and it refuses to communicate with my laptop. I figured it was good cause it turns the check engine on light as it should, along with controlling the relays, but it does not work as it should with these other areas. So, I pushed it all back into the shop, and came inside. Soon got a call from Darren in Calgary (ClassicChev) regarding an engine I purchased from him. He told me that it wasn't as good as he originally figured, and didn't feel good about selling it to me. He decided to sell me his 73 Nova 350, less the heads for the same price as the generic mid 80s engine! What a guy! Not only that, but when I told him about my adventures with the TPI setup, he told me that he had a good ECM there, that he'd send up with the engine. Definitely a stand up fellow that I'd definitely reccomend dealings with! Made my day for sure! So, while I am back to work on the apartment rennovations tommorow (will keep me occupied for at least the next two weeks) My engine should arrive tommorow night, and I will have both my 89 and my 80 running this week. All the 89 needs is a set of TBI heads, a TBI intake, and a TBI distributer base, and a fuel pump swap, otherwise she is ready to go with a new 700r4, and a fresh higher performance 350 :) I plan to take it into the mountains on Friday night to go camping with some friends I had throughout highschool, then it immediately goes into the trader. The money from that truck will go towards finishing the GMC off (needs shocks, driveshafts, and possibly brakes, along with a whole lotta bodywork) Whew, sorry about the essay, but I had a fair bit going on this weekend :D |

well i did'nt do anything to my k5 since its not in Wyoming yet.. tryin to sell my 01 ext cab gotta take my stereo out put the stock back in and clean it up alil bit hopefully it goes quick! and after that i'll be workin on it again figured out im just goin to do a frame off on it next year after i go to pismo for the 4th next year and if it takes me till the next 4th oh well maybe it'll actually be how i want it this time:P chrome powdercoat and a supercharged 383 stroker oh my! anyways excuse the long post but noone else wants to listen to me ramble on about my k5 :hm:

well i dissassembled the front right suspension and cut one coil off and reassembled everything...lowered it 2.5 inches. now i just gotta do the other side... gonna do that tomorrow...
update: i just went out in the garage and finished it except for the shock bolt i broke.... :crazy: :crazy: :crazy: |

well guys my mother in law has gotten busted at the casino due to her 73-87 farm truck flat bed catching fire (rats nest in the intake) notheing worse than having to call spouse to come pick you up after a fight :haha: other than that i just layed around and was lazy this weekend i did mow the yard.

Hmm, I am saving up my stuff as it only arrived/was ordered last week.
Wednesday: recived the new Blazer EFI sending unit from GM -$$$$$ Thursday: ordered fuel lines for a '90 Blazer Friday: ordered: sensor kit, 749 ecm (turbo app), 350 TPI prom, stainless steel bolt kit, and throttle body gasket kit. Saturday: started laying out the TPI pieces and started cleaning them up. The ugly white paint will have to be sand blasted off. Started disassembling the TPI, took the Throttle Body apart and broke a bolt off in the Idle circuit section, then broke a cheap torx bit trying to remove the fuel rails. Got everything apart except the rails Sunday: borrowed a buddies Torx bit and removed the rails and found blatantly broken injector, so one more thing to add to the list. |

Friday I welded up my wheel tub in the 92. Saturday night I got the rearend under it and the ladder bars mocked up. Sunday I helped a buddy fire up his 383 motor for the first time in 2 yrs. Got my sway bar put on the front end and set the cam bolts which hold the a arms into place. Got wheels put on the front of the truck and set her on the ground for the first time in 6 months or so.

technically not the weekend, but today 8-22, on the way to school had a little electrical fire, so today i took what melted off, and put a new negative battery cable on, tomorrow i should be able to finish the rest , also please pray for my dad as he is getting his heart shocked tomorrow
