Fender Welting
 

What are the Pros and Con of using fender welting on the front and rear fenders. I am getting ready to place the rear fenders and was just thinking !!!!!

Anybody have any comments +or -

I do not like the looks of welting. I use rubber strips.

i like it if it's properly installed// it's purpose is to eliminate squeaking from metal to metal contact

Thanks for the replys. I did not hear from anyone so I used the welting, black on black so it does not show too much.

Where did you get your welting from ??? I have a 51 Dodge that needs it also.

As I remember it came from Chevy Duty, and there was enough to do all four fenders!

We keep it in stock for front and rear fenders. http://www.mar-k.com/various_restoration_items.pdf It has about .20 bead and 1.75 tail. It is made of shiny black vinyl material and is not real stretchy, so you have to make "pie" shape cuts to make it fit the curves of the fenders. Let me know if you need to see a sample.

I have used it on my stepside fenders and I like the way it looks and how it works. Have had a lot of compliments on it also.

I'll be using it when I put the fenders back on the panel.
