Exhaust Systems
Any of you guys got any input. On your likes on your Chevy Truck exhaust ??
I am about at that point on mine. In the past I ran 2" flowmasters and the truck I am driving now has 2 1/2" pipes & Magnaflow Mufflers. I like Magnaflows, there not as deep, ideling as the flowmasters. But when I get on it,they sound nice. I was just wondering what you guys used. I have thought of the old round type chambered mufflers. But not sure of the sound. One guy said just to run straight pipes out the back. His Idea was it would not be as noisy as some Harleys. Flowmasters are cool,it just when I had them on mine everyone knew when I came home, and they made the cops look up. Other then that they make your truck sound bad ass. |
Dynomax Super Turbos. They sound good and let you free up some hp without being near as loud as the Flowmasters. I like to hear the radio when I'm going down the highway, and want to keep what little hearing I have left.

Flowmaster makes a few different lines, and I think the "deltaflow" ones are supposed to be deeper and quieter. Dynomax would be a good choice too.

Check out the Flowmaster 70's...Not loud at idle...But it has an awesome tone when you get on it!

you won't do better than the Magnaflows that you already have. I'm running the 12219's 3" center/center with 3" pipe dumped right in front of the axle. Sounds deep but not offensive at idle, but REALLY comes alive when you get on it.... JMHO. :)

My 98 dually has factory pipes to dual 40 series Flowmasters ( 2 1/2 in and out) followed by 2 1/2 pipes on out and it's a bellowing beast. On the other hand one of my 72 k10's has 2" pipes to dual 40 series Flowmasters (2 1/4 in and out) with turn downs that I pirated off a mustang gt, and it's a lot quieter. Both truck have headers. I wish that I could get my dually to sound as good as the 72.
