454 help
Is there a formed hose from the intake manifold to the water pump? Its about two to three in length and 3/4 inch or so in diameter with a 90 degree bend. I called a supplier and they had nothing listed, what are the rest of you with 454's using since it seems that using a regular hose would kink.

I use a regular hose that kinks. :hm:
Actually, it's not too bad. I don't have any problems with it. |
Thanks bk, I notice your in glendale so you know about how hot it gets. This hose has not split yet but I want to replace everything before it goes bad instead on the side of the road.
thanks again. Tom |
I know exactly what you mean. I replaced my entire cooling system except one of the heater hoses and that hose put me on the side of the road a couple years ago. I now carry spare hoses and water, but I haven't had any trouble since. If I could only get the A/C to work.....

I just went & picked up a bypass hose & was a little supprised that they handed me a straight hose too. Looks like it will work though...corn

bk I know what you mean about the a/c. I just put in a new system rebuilt compressor and forgot to fill it with the needed oil, $165 down the drain and now the blower goes out on the 78 and now were back into the 111's :(
|
Yeah, I'm not sure what hurts more, driving with no A/C in 110-degree weather, or paying $2.75/gallon for gas and getting 8 mpg...... :(

All I did was go to my local FLAPS and ask if I could view their stock of "formed" heater hoses. I found one that was 3/4 ID and had three 90 degree bends in it. Cut them to size and voila, bypass hoses for life. ;) |
Bk where did you find gas for 2.75? This morning I passed 2.89 and the day before it was 2.65.
76 HS, what is Flaps? Never heard of it. |
I saw gas for $2.75 at a QT on Cave Creek and T-Bird this morning, I think. I suspect it will be much higher when I leave work tonight...
|
BK your were right, I went by the gas station this evening up again, 2.99.
