yippy!! another new old truck 67 c10 3 on the tree

just closed the deal on another truck today , 6 weeks ago i coulnt make my mind up on what i wanted a mint 67-68 or a 71 -72. well first i baught the 71 in my aveator, no regrets other than its so damb nice i dont wanna drive it.
after going to cruise night last week i told the wife i was gonna buy her one that we wouldnt have to worry about getting scratched.

this truck is one that i turned down for the 71 .
after not seeing it sell on ebay 2or3 times i called the guy up to see if he was ready to do any better on the price and offered him 1,500, he said hes gotta get atleast 2,000

i told him id call him back if my money situation changed, he said ok. 2 miniutes later he called back and asked when can i pick it up :metal:

done deal , she comes home thursday morning

truck runs and drives nice, very straight original under the houd and the interior. 6 cyl 3 on the tree(ive always wanted one) just like dads only in better shape  and original wood floor.

ya got to love those little windows and slant hoods :metal:

jc 08-30-2005 08:07 PM

let me know what yall think. not bad for the rust belt hay?!!!
was painted many years ago, just a little bondo from the doors opening to far
and a small spot at the cab corner were the door meets the jamb.
very solid truck.

this my friends is what happens when you are the only one to actualy show up to look at a truck on ebay and wait it out for the price to drop.

Congrats John, looks like I'm gonna have to stop by and see this one as well.
BTW, is this one for the wife or to keep the 71 company?

The sound and feel of a 6cyl/3spd Chevy truck is nostalgic for me.Nice find!

Yukon Jack 08-31-2005 09:35 AM

That's a great pic of your dad's truck. Looks like the one you picked up is a good find.

chevyfarmer 08-31-2005 10:57 AM

Wow! Looks like a really clean straight truck. The wood floor is in really nice shape as well. I think that is a fantastic score. I see it is a custom cab with the trim option but what else, what does the option sheet say? Really like those stock hubcaps.

68haywagon 08-31-2005 11:01 AM

Very nice truck...alot better on the rust part than I am and you have a good bed to boot.

Good luck with it.

Mike

1500 for THAT??? Man, you STOLE that truck! I paid $1,400 for mine in similar, slightly worse condition NINE years ago! I love them ole 67's in that original blue paint.... it has a radio delete plate, looks like there are no cracks in the steering wheel, engine bay and interior aren't hacked up.... I'll be honest, I'm JEALOUS!!!

jc 08-31-2005 12:03 PM

i know the dash pad is crack free , i cant rember if the wheel is crack free if it isnt the cracks must be small and neer the spokes only.
i cant remeber its been a month since i saw it and i baught it over the phone last night when i called to see if he still had it.

the exterior was painted many years ago.

aperently the truck sat in a barn for quite while after the owner died. and it was covered in pigeon or chicken poop! which may have contributed to the faded paint.

thanks for all the replyies of aprovalim gonna pic her up thursday morning on my way home from work

I havent seen that horn button before. Are these common for 67?...maybe a 66 carry-over?

Matt67C10 08-31-2005 04:44 PM

Congrats on the '67. It looks awesome. You've got both me and Mike (68haywagon) beat in the rest department. I agree, the sound of a 6cyl 3spd is nostalgic and having a chick drive a 3 on the tree is hot!
Awesome truck, congrats.
Matt

i think the horn button is a cst thing i per fer the flat one, however i like to keep things the way they came.

almost had a decent grill today for a decent price paid for it ,pulled it started walking out and the guy starts given me a hard time , nit picken at everything wanting more money or wanted me to take all the little stuff off.

threw down at his feet , said gimmie my damb money back you &^&^$$%#$%#&^*(&*&&*%%#$^#@$%@#@##$@RE#$%#&&#$%^$&^%&*&^&*(^*)*_
got my money back then i said you

*&%^%#$%#@!%#@^%(*&)*)^%^$#$@$%#@&^%$&^%(&*^)&^)*(&^&*(%%^%

needless to say i will not be going back there ever again, the guy thinks every thing he has is worth a fortune.
uniuque auto in jackson is a crook and has had run ins with the law .
i think hes good friends with michael jackson

67ChevyRedneck 08-31-2005 05:13 PM

I noticed the horn button as well. Didn't know they had different one's for CST's. Mine had the flat one, but I swapped out the column for a 72 anyway.....

JC: I had the exact experience. I found a PERFECT 67 grill that my dad needed for his truck (excellent b-day present) at a junkyard and the man there told me 40 bucks. It came off a blue truck just like yours, but it was totaled down the side and in the back. It took forever to get it off cause of all them danged fender bolts in hard to get places. I also took the "no antenna hole" cowl for my truck. Total price was 45 bucks. I paid the man and then the "boss man" came in and asked how much I paid for those. I told him and he started to tell me I was ripping him off and that I couldn't have it for that price. I told him that I was told a price and I have paid it, and that I'm taking it home with me. He told me that I knew what it was worth and should have paid more and I was stealing.... bla bla bla. I just walked away with my parts and never went back.

shes home

well after a little trip this morning i braught her home on a tow dolly with no problems. only 160 miles round trip $35 for gas $25 for the tow dolly rental
not bad

the last time this truck was titled was in nov of 1995 at 36,876 miles the odometer still hasnt turned 37,000 miles :metal:
i had no i dea of the milage until i handed over the money all i was interested in at the time was that the vin #s matched
c 2wd
s 6cyl
1 half ton
4 pickup bed with cab
7 1967
T tarrytown NY plant

and i baught the truck without even hearing her run
however- she purs like a kitten
the shift linkage is smooth
the tires are meaty and very vintage  nylon coorded to bad they got some dry rott still usable, AT LOW SPEEDS OF COARSE!!
Aperantly for the first 27 years it stayed in the famialy and was sold to the niegbor in 1995 and never driven.
and 2 months ago the guy i baught it from baught it to sell for a profit.
the 2 neighbors are farmers in the same town i purchased the truck.

i asked the guy if he could look into seeing if he could find out any more info on the truck or any kind of documentation of any sort.

i am one happy dude today, i gotta grin from ear to ear.
and as of 7/14/07
