87 headlight buzzer
Hey all
does anyone know where the s&t terminal and the IG terminal are? going to hook up a reminder when I leave my lights on. Thanks mike |
Is that what the instructions says? s8ct and IG? Do not know what that is but just put one on mine and works great. If you do not get an answer, I will look and my '86 tomorrow and let you know where my wires are hooked to.

How about a "key in / door open" buzzer???? :canada: :bowtie: :flag: |
Would like to know also I bought one from a board member named gregbr. Works great in my 68 but cant get it to work in my 79 any help would be great.

OK, on my '86 the black wire goes to 20A and the red wire is in the 5A. Works great. Only buzzes when the lights are on and the switch is off. Love it. Will save on my battery now that it reminds me that I have the lights on or the parking lights on. I am not sure on the '79. I also put one on my '70 and it is hooked up different than the '86. Hope this helps. Tried to take a picture but always came out too fuzzy. Could not really see the wires.

Forgot to add that the 20A is Ingition and the 5A is the Insterment lights. That is where I have mine hooked to. Sorry about that. Just forgot to add that important little bit of information.

thanks 86
just what I was lookin for, should be the same on my 87. Man, I love this board Thanks Mike |
Hope it works for you. I am not sure but I would think the '86 and '87 fuse panel would be the same. No problem.

This might help. This the write-up I did some time back when I built and installed one on my '86 Suburban: http://www.geocities.com/kevinshorte.../hlonbuzz.html. The only thing I've found since then is that the buzzer volume is actually related to the instrument lighting dimmer switch-- no big deal for me since they never are too bright on these trucks from the factory and I've got 'em turned all the way up anyhow.
I hope this helps a bit. :) |

Thanks Man, I wasn't quite sure what the process was, but your article certainly clears it up. Just one more question - - does (did) your '86 Suburban have a "key in / door open" buzzer? I'm just wondering if my '86 Silverado should have one. Oh, and just to return the helpful advice, in case you've never seen my "Brighter Dashlights" article, and your wanting to brighten up your instrument cluster.... http://www.73-87.com/7387garage/interior/dashlights.htm Thanks again. :canada: :bowtie: :flag: |
2 wire hook up, 5 min. and $4.00. works great, cut switch off if lights are on beep-beep till you turn lights off . simple, no more dead batts
God bless Mike |
