Wheels!?
 

Hello everyone - I'm new to this list as I just picked up a '69 LB C10 with a wood bed and am just trying to accumulate parts to get it ready for the restoration... I've searched several times regarding 6-lug wheels and may already have my answer, but it can't hurt to double-check...

I was looking into these wheels as a possibility:

However, after what I've read here it seems as if these just won't work... the center being too small for the old trucks, the lugnuts themselves being the wrong size, and the backspacing being too large among other things... am I better off going with the 87 and older truck wheels for a painless fit or am I just way off...!?

I'm down in Houston. If you are out and about in the yards, could you keep a look out for a 72lwb bed for me. Welcome to the addiction.

While I am not sure about the hole size that you mentioned, I would stick with the 87 and older becouse then you won't have any back spacing trouble either. Plus they look better, but that's just myu opinion.

I'll definitely keep an eye out for any parts whatsoever - and I'll let you know if I run across a 72 bed...

longhornmail - thanks - it sounds as if the older wheels are really the only way to go... do they fit with no modifications whatsoever...?

Well...if you wanna be nit picky, the 4X4 on the center cap is annoying if your in a lowered 2 wheel drive, but other than that....it's a perfect bolt on. :D

Let me check my brother-law junk yard tommorrow and see if its a 72 or 71. I am from Mart, Tx. And I also know this man in Mart that has one but I dont know if he will sell it or not.

What about the new 6 lugs on 2000-01 trucks. They are 6 on 51/2 like those on a 6 lug c-10 right? Is there backspacing problems on those too?
