roof lights.

im sure this is a long shot. does anyone out there have one of those roofs with the raised pads for the lights on them that they would be willing to sell. dont need the entire roof. just that section cut out with maybe 6 inches of extra metal all around it.

Me too. I would like to know how you plan on fabricating the cut out section into an existing roof top!

I have one. It has bondo/rust around the driprail, but is good otherwise. Make me an offer if you're interested.

hugger if there is a way you can take a picture of it i can show it to the fella that is going to patch it in for me. and maybe he can tell me what its worth. im not good at making offers. dont wanna low ball you and insult you and i dont wanna find out i paid way to much down the road and get pissed everytime i look at the cab lights....thanks

I saw one of these in a hillbillies lil junkyard, I think he wanted to sell the whole cab, down here in SE Alabama.

would hate to have to pay shipping all the way from bama for a whole cab. sneak over there with a sawzall would ya? :hm:

55chevy 09-25-2005 04:53 PM

LOL, I got bee stung last time, he probably has a shotgun. He was real hard to understand, but you sure sould smell him. Actually, I was looking for an inner roof, can't remember if he would have let me cut that one off.

well my guy finally got back to me. he said those are going to take a little more work than i am going to want to pay him to do. he has talked me into just using flush mount cab lights for now, that way if i dont like em it will just be a small hole to fill. thanks for grabbing the pics. sorry it took so long to get back with you.

Mark, Seal the heck out of those flush mounted lights. I pulled the ones from '67 short stepside and found lots of leakage and rust. It is a direct shot to the top of the windshield from those lights. Just a word of caution.

Hutch....nice lights! Mine were very similar to those...they just did not seal them down to the cab.

I've got 4 descent used ones like that if someone needs one(or all) to finish your set.

I`ve mounted the original lights on a regylar roof and it looked great. That`s what the factory did on post-72s with the same light.I didn`t realize the factory made a special roof for these until i had already had mine on for a while.I always wondered why they bothered. But,once I knew to be "correct",I have wanted the "pads" ever since.Just that little extra detail.

CG 10-04-2005 08:53 PM

thanks guys, i have a set of the flush mount factory style lights already. i really like the looks of the bumped up ones better though .... and yes i know they are called cab lights. dunno where my brain was when i called em roof lights...lol.
