man its hard to get around the board now

this board is alot harder to get around now that there arent any links to go from one board to another board, in the upper right corner. when you visit two or three different boards at a time now you have to go down to the lower right and find it on a pull down list what a pain in the A$$ has anyone else experienced this or is it just me. makes me mad

FormerMember 09-25-2005 06:19 PM

Actually, there are a few links you can use.

Try using your end key on your keyboard to use the links on the bottom.

brandonh 09-25-2005 06:32 PM

ya you can hit the need button and get right to it but then you have to pull down a freaking pull down list and try to find what you want out of like 40 or more different things that a pain in the A$$ and to me it is stupid and i hate it i have been a member of this board since 4 of 2000 and i think it is getting worse by the minute this site sucks anymore

Jakes-66-K10 09-25-2005 06:36 PM

Beggars aren't choosers. Would you rather have the site go down? Read the other threads about Josh's situation before you start saying how much the site sucks. Be grateful for what you (and all of us) have here.

RPOZ11 09-25-2005 06:36 PM

I definately liked the tab links he had at the top of the page like before! I seem to think that the parts/message boards pertaining to alike years should follow each other directly rather than different box locations....

Longhorn Man 09-25-2005 06:38 PM

Josh did this for a reason.
If you only go to 3 pages of the site, then just make 3 links to your favorites and access them that way, that's how I did it before the quick links were there.
This is a huge site now, you've been here longer than me, you've seen it go from a small groupe of fruck freaks to a HUGE site. Being here so long, you probably also know that Josh is tossing this board, a sick family member, full time work, and school....add in the attempt at a sosial life, and you can see why he is sick of the way a hand full of ppl have been acting on here.
Look around, there's a couple threads addressing the problems, and if you read them you'll see why some of the things are happening.

tomatocity 09-25-2005 06:40 PM

I can feel your pain. I don't understand why it is this way but who am I.

You can always go to teh upper left and choose the main Board, The 1947 - 1998 Chevrolet & GMC Pickup Message Board Network , and then scroll down to somewhere you want to be. Hope this helps.

Id sorta like to have a resto tab location for stock things as thats what I aim to do with my trucks.
Is Josh selling this site?

matthufham 09-25-2005 07:23 PM

how about putting the drop down menu at the top? it's about as hard as moving the code to the head of the html code.

Josh 09-25-2005 07:48 PM

:flm: :trolls: :TFU: :rulz:

It's not quite as simple as that, there are 8 different styles that would have ot edited the same, probably requiring editing 2 different templates each, which would be 16 total edits in 16 different files, which after testing each one etc. if it only took 2 minutes each, thats minimum 32 minutes not counting any rewrites that would ahve ot be made to make the drop box fit....

Yes it is for sale, you might think you would pay $15,000,000 even $12,000,000 but right now for the unbelievable price of $9,000,000.00 you will receive this site, all the accompanying headaches, almost no cash flow! Act now! operators are standing by  :)

Get a grip, man . I used the links at the top all the time, but now I simply start at the index page http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/index.php3? and go from there. Quick & easy. Instead of *****in', you should be thanking Josh for all he does to keep this place open. Most of us appreciate all he's been going through... :metal:

LONGHAIR 09-26-2005 06:28 AM

Yeah, what he said ^^^^^ That's where I have always started from.

Putter 09-26-2005 12:07 PM

I too used the links at the top of the page. But now that they are not there...I scroll down and use a different link!!
If the road is closed and you want to get to town...don't you take a different route? I am pretty sure that if the top links were never there, and Josh ADDED them, someone would make a fuss about that, too!
I wouldn't care if I had to hand-type each address to each board....I'd do it.
This board is my all-time favorite (not to mention the best knowledge-base out there).

Go Josh....(and Josh's helpers!).

PICKMUP 09-26-2005 02:12 PM

That helped

Tomatocity: Yes, that did help.
Another thing that helps is when the moved item has the title left on the original posted board with the notation, "moved".

fine69 09-26-2005 06:56 PM

I cant believe anyone is complaining about this board!!!!!!! ITS FREE. Dont stay if you hate it. Did i mention that its FREE? And WE dont have to do a damn thing for it?

masterbeavis 09-26-2005 11:43 PM

I never used the links at the top of the page, I thought they were annoying, always having to scroll down to get past all of that junk to get to what I wanted.

I guess I am used to the way things are right now, using the index, and the forum jump buttons to go where I want to be. Its how it is on alot of other sites, and I like it that way. Just my 2 cents :D

slingin mud 09-27-2005 12:39 AM

general discussion.

68C15 09-27-2005 08:27 AM

as Jim Morrison used to say "ride the snake".

<I interpret this as meaning "sit back & enjoy the ride">

Bill72BB 09-29-2005 11:56 AM

The Older I get the more I dislike change ,but I've adapted for 62 years and will get used to this also it's just part of life .There is no progress without change .
