Flipping Upper Control Arms, Problem??

I seen this in a past post. I am having great trouble with the upper ball joint
binding, It is at very sharp angle. Well, I tried to flip them like the ones that are shown on the first thread. But the ball joints do not even fit in to the control arm like that. What am I doing wrong, do have to cut rolled edge on A arm and weld new edge on??. I thought maybe grind balljoint, but I dont really like that idea. any help  btw its an 82 2wd C10

TurnNBurn- you shouldn't have to grind anything near the balljoint. You might have to grind where the arm mounts to the crossmember. You only need to do this mod if you are on air ride. And you really don't need t do it then.

The truck is bagged , the ball joint will sit in there but they are crooked. they dont lay level on mounting surface. like they would right side up, its real hard to get the balljoints bolted in. I will get a pics of my control arms to show you what i mean.

What if you bolt the ball joint & the grease cup on the bottom side of the A arm ?(actually ,I guess it would be the top side.....but the arm is downsideup).....let me know what works, I am thinking about flipping my arms to correct the balljoint angles...... L

did you swap sides too? ie, passenger side arm on the driver side flipped upside down?

I have included a pic of the control arm I will have the problem circled on the pic, thanks all,

oh by the way I will try the balljoint mounted other way.

You need to flip the balljoint over in the control arm and flip the passenger side to the driver side.....and vice versa!

I already tried that but the ball joints do not fit in the control arm upside down. thats y I posted the pic to see how you get them in there. I had them off and tried it but wouldn't fit so I just put them back on reg way

The ball joints should fit.... all the times I have done it they have fit fine. Check and see what they are hitting on and grind it too fit if it is not too much.
