i have an 1971 chevy c-10 pick up 307 any right now all i have is low beam headlights i had the high beams working for a sort time i took the conector off the switch in the floor and cleaned everything and they worked f till the button got stuck and the stoped working. the lamposa re good i installed a new floor switch last night and all i have is low beams? i am wanting to intsall an new headlight harnass but don't have the money right now i just want to get these working any ideas i am about to sday for get it and run new wire from the switch all the way to the lights as an temp fix:b69:

Can`t help,but have beer,lol.I think the headlights are on their own cicuit,if memory serves.So,you could do that.Make sure you fuse properly!Or,do you use the Hi-beams that much?I know I could get by witout them.

i use them on the high way because they are like super dark because the have no street lights lol thats about it

If you're going to run a new wire anyway, you may want to consider a relay upgrade mentined in previous posts.... I haven't done it yet but it eliminates long wiring runs to the lamps and greatly improves footcandle output/night driving cpabilities..... may not be able to find it on "search" since I don't think it's fully functional yet but, if you'll scroll back a week or so on the posts you will find it. Gives you a wiring diagram for both GMC and Chev. applications.

I have found on mine that the high beams will quit working too when I mess with the floor switch. Go out to the lights and jiggle the connector on the back of the lamps. Those connectors get old and brittle, plus the corrosion in them make for bad connections sometimes. If you have the lights on when doing this, you'll instantly see when you get the connector in the right place. Good luck, Jeff.

i've tried that bu8t no luck i want to upgrade to the headlight harness but money is kinda tight right now albetween paying for the truck and keeping it running

As soon as you can install the headlight relays, you will not be disappointed with the change. I ordered mine from MAD Enterprises, but I sure there are many sources for them. There also is no replacement for a volt/ohm meter when chasing down wiring problems, there are plenty of cheap ones out there that will read DC voltage acurrate enough for our trucks.
