Rear Leaf Springs

Will leaf springs from a 73-87 2wd swb fit a 2wd blazer?

Thanks,
Rusty

If they are the same length I think that they should. I know the springs come in two different sizes 52" and 56" and don't interchange. I'm guessing they "might" be the right size being a short bed.

Kevinr1970,

Measure the length of the ones in your blazer and let me know the length. I will measure the length of mine when I get home on Monday.

Re: Rear Leaf Springs

You guys are in the area I am puzzled about. I have a 70 1/2 ton gmc frame with 5 leaves per side . want to install new springs. New springs have same eye to eye measurement. BUT the axle alignment bolts in the new springs are centered and my old springs have bolt closer to front. If I install these ,it will move my rear axle back, taking it out of center of fender. Any help would be appreciated. Randy

Don't know about the 70 but all 2wd 73-87 and up through 91 for Blazers and Suburbans will interchange leaf springs as long as they are the same length. Brandon is right, they came in two lengths, 52" and 56". The difference in length was at the rear meaning from the front eye to the axle locating pin is the same on both, 26". The difference is at the rear. It's either 26" from pin to rear eye or 30".

The length of the spring had nothing at all to do with the bed length. It's seems to be one of them GM things as to why they did this or that. I know my SWB 85 came with 56" springs and was supposed to be a heavy duty suspension. I gave up long ago trying to figure out why GM did things the way they did or do.
