My wife found me a door !

No kidding. My wife comes home from shopping tonight and tells me she saw a door on her way home. It was sitting in a yard with a FREE sign on it. She thought it was a truck door. So I stop what I am doing and go take a look. She was right. It was a 1972 drivers side door and it was almost rustfree. It was dark out so I didn't go up to the front door of the house, just loaded up the free door and came happily home. I will go back later and see if he has any other parts laying around. Earlier this week my dad picked me up an almost perfect hood at a yardsale for $10. Man what a great week!

:agree: When I brought my '86 home my wife looked at it and said "Looks just like the one you gave Ronnie (one of my Son-In-Laws). The truck I gave him was my '70 Custom swb. Well, at least they both were short wheel base and black. So no tellen what kind of door she would find me.:lol:

No, I don't think she was just lucky and she is not mechanical at all. But she knows how much I really enjoy these trucks and seems to pay attention to details when it counts. For our 25th wedding anniversary she went out and bought me a set of Crager SS. As far as I know, I had never mentioned the size I wanted to get. She got me 15 X 8's. The size I had in mind. After 30 years of marriage I have to say she is a keeper even if she didn't get me such great stuff. And yes she has a sister but she is married to another car guy.

Now don't get me wrong, I have a great wife but could you loan me your wife for while so she could teach my wife a thing or two about what to get her husband for birthdays and such? Please??;) The wife and I will be married for 41 years come December. But I must say my wife did know when I bought some new mag wheels for a car or truck of mine. I tried to sneak one on her and we were not married too long at the time. Had a '57 Chevy and put some mag wheels on the car thinking she woud not notice with some money I put back with out her her knowing. Wrong. Did I ever hear about that. So no more sneaking around buying things for cars and trucks.:o

Did your wife know it was a `72 and not a 68-71 or `67?Mine keeps screwing up on the`67 vent window and`72 regulator differences.Give`er time,though.

No she didnt stop and look at it. She just saw the door leaning up against a post and knew it was a 67-72 door. She does know that a 72 has a screw hole under the vent window though.
