Anybody making and selling side marker filler metal blanks?
Figured someone may know if anyone has any such thing available for sale to the board.
Want to fill in the holes on the sides of the body, left by the removal of the side marker reflectors/lights. Anybody? |

agree with 67 c10step --- can be cut out with large snips from body metal or similar in 15 mins. But as they said above are also available on ebay. If you weld this should be no problem --if you are taking them somewhere to get them welded in, let them worry about it.

it's called scrap metal! i used some and bondo'd over to smooth it out. that guy on ebay is makin me mad because you don't need some stupid piece of metal like that. if you have the skill to weld in the filler panel, you should have the skill to cut a piece of scrap metal to size.
edit: warping was an issue on the first fender i did. take it sloooooow pics: bondo in progress |

Glue your patches in with 3M 8115 metal to metal panel adhesive and save having to buy a welder or paying someone to weld the patches in and prevent warping the panel. Try it, I think you will like the results. I know the gun is about 100.00 dollars and the adhesive about 30-40 or so but alot cheaper in the long run. Many uses for the gun too such as applying seam sealer throughout the whole cab.

Actually, what makes the Stepside hard is,to mount the flat light on the curved surface the body is raised to the rear making a high spot that needs cut-out and filled, not just the hole for the marker light. Then, the backside is exposed to road spray so it has to be sealed up real good or it`ll bubble up real quick.
