Yes it is solid, has some surface rust on the ends may have minor pitting there,but wouldn't be seen even if you had to put a very very small amount of putty. Please send me your email addy so that you can see it for yourself so there is no suprises. Once you see pics and are ok with it I will get the shipping quote. RAndy
