Not sure. When I get errors I do not recognize, I turn to a Google search.

Joe; I was there ,unfortunately there don't seem to be an answer ,
I think it may be a conflict between IE and the SBC Yahoo browser .

Bill,

You may definitely be correct. But does SBC Yahoo actually use a separate browser or some weird interface to IE like AOL does? I didn't think that was the case.

A lot of times, ISP's just add a line into the registry that makes the ISP name show up in the title bar of the browser.

You might look and see if they've added some BHO's to your computer. Primarily, Yahoo! toolbar or some special SBC toolbar could potentially cause problems when shutting down if the toolbar is not closing properly.

I primarily only use the Google toolbar. The SBC/Yahoo and Netzero toolbars I see people with on here a lot are not required to use the internet provider's service.

You can see a list of BHO's on your computer by scanning with HijackThis (google for the software).

If you post a log file from your scan for me, I can tell you if there is some other thing that might be causing the problem.

Question:

How much do you really use and/or need the Yahoo! toolbar in Internet Explorer?

Do you still have McAffee antivirus on your computer? I see you once had it on there, it leftover some items in Internet Explorer that are probably causing your problems.

How much do you like using Yahoo! Antivirus? Would you like a different client that is free and has a better reuptation?

Re: IExplore.exe -Application error ?

I don't use McAfee anymore .
I don't think I use the Yahoo tool bar ,I do use the tool bar in Explorer for my Links .

I do use SBC Yahoo anti virus , but run Housecalls also as a backup .

Part of my problem may be self caused , As I have SBC Yahoo DSL ,withit's browser , but I use Explorer with Netscape as my home page and Sbc Yahoo as my mail client . ( Don't ask );)

Close all of the open programs on your computer including internet Explorer (print this out or save it to a notepad file).

Run HijackThis.
Choose "Scan only", it'll take a second or two.
Locate each one of these lines (they'll be in the same group) and put a checkmark in the box next to each one.

O2 - BHO: UberButton Class - {5BAB4B5B-68BC-4B02-94D6-2FC0DE4A7897} - C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Common\yiesrvc.dll
O2 - BHO: YahooTaggedBM Class - {65D886A2-7CA7-479B-BB95-14D1EFB7946A} - C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Common\YIeTagBm.dll
O2 - BHO: SidebarAutoLaunch Class - {F2AA9440-6328-4933-B7C9-A6CCDF9CBF6D} - C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\browser\YSidebarIEBHO.dll
O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {ACB1E670-3217-45C4-A021-6B829A8A27CB} - (no file)
O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {BA52B914-B692-46c4-B683-905236F6F655} - (no file)

Once they all have little checkmarks, click the FIX button in HijackThis. It will give you a warning asking you to close all Internet Explorer windows (in otherwords, just close every open program you got :)). Click "OK", let it fix everything, then reboot.

See if it keeps happening after that.
