Product review (Tuff Country lift Kit)
 

I just wanted to pass along a review for Tuff Country's 2" Ez ride lift kit.

I purchased the 2" EZ ride kit with all 4 springs and hardware. Along with their beefed up front shackle kit. I am very impressed with the spring quality and their hardware supply. I have completed the front installation and I must say it was a snap to install. I also opted for their upgraded greasable Polyurethane bushings. The kit included all of the poly bushings and gr. 8 bolts with grease zerks. The only negative is even though I purchased everything at the same place, the springs came with the standard rubber bushings installed. The front springs were no trouble to remove the bushings to install the poly bushing, but the rears have been a real pain to remove.

After I have the rear complete I will try to snap a few pictures.

I was a little unsure about running with the 2" lift because the recommend 32 10.5 tires and I am running 33" 12.50's. There is no problem with the 33's at all.

I put the TC HD 2" springs on my GMC and their 4" springs in the rear(removed the factory block) . I also used the ORD extended front shackle, I ended up taking the extra leaf out of the fronts and the front is still almost level with the rear, i believe I got more than 2" of lift, probably closer to 3.5". I had 35s on there with very little rubbing. the guy I sold it to just put 33s on it and the tires don't even come close to rubbing now.
If (or when) I install a lift on my Burb, it will be Tuff Country!

A quick question...

I dont have the heavy duty springs in the front they are just the standard 2" EZ ride springs. I too noticed a little more lift than I had expected. How much height did you loose when you removed the bottom front spring? Also did you find much difference with the ride when you took it out? I am looking at the stance in the front end and I was thinking that I could still easily stand to loose another inch out of there. I also noticed that the rear springs seem to be pretty beefy as well. With what little weight I usually haul I was hoping to find some feedback from someone who has took one spring out of them also.

TuffCountry uses thick springs as part of their EZ-Ride design.Don`t assume the thicker leafs make the ride rough.I have the 4" EZ-Rides on all four corners of my`91 3/4t Suburban and it is such a better ride than stock.The springs are meant to ride softer and flex more as made.If you have a stiff ride,it`s probably the shocks.I`m using Rancho 9000RSXs on the softest setting.When I go to the stiffest setting the`Burb "jars" over bumps.You don`t get the soft ride unless you have some of the latest tech,more sofisticated(& expensive)shocks.You`ll still get the off road flex,though.

Curt, The HD springs have 4 leaves instead of 3, I think you'll loose a lot if you take a leaf out of the 3 leaf pack. It rode different, a lot softer.
