How do you get your radiator to...

Recover the fluid from your overflow tank? Do you need a special cap for the radiator for this? Mine will spit water out, but never suck it back in. Any ideas? Thanks, Jeff.

Shouldnt need anything special...just make sure your radiator cap is for a later model, ie, one that has a recovery tank. also, make sure your hose that goes between the radiator neck and the recovery tank is in good shape.
The only other thing that might be an issue, is if your coolant system in general is in bad shape and pulling air in from somewhere.

Make sure the tube from the radiator to the recovery tank is submerged in the fliud so that it can pull it back into the radiator. If you are puking a lot of fluid there may be something else? I had a blown head gasket that was great for pressurizing my coolant system to 15-20 psi so my tank was full alot untill I tracked it down. Let us know what you find out.

Ya, the radiator is new, but I think I recycled the cap. What year do I need to ensure its one that will let it pull from the overflow? A '95 should work right? Thanks all, Jeff.

Just tell them you need a 13-15 lb. cap for a closed system. Should get you what you need.

Ok, picked up a new cap for the '95 from Autozone. I'll put it on when I head home from work today and see if it works. Also picked up a tailpipe expander for $20 there. We'll see how that works too. Later, Jeff.
