If you do this, have the shop weld up some slip on collectors behinde the tranny X-member too. This way, dropping the tranny is a nut and bolt deal... not hack saw.

I bought an x-pipe from a guy on e-bay who custom built it to my specs. It is 3" and necks down on the muffler side to 2 1/2". I have not had the 454 without the x-pipe so I don't have anything to compare it to, but it does sound awfully nice to me. Here is a link to pics of it installed on my K20.
