1970 K5 Transfer Case

I finally found a 1970 K5 Blazer to restore. The guy I bought it from said the rear output shaft was snapped on the transfer case. The truck currently has a Dana transfer case in it, but I'll probably replace it with a NP205 T-case. Does anyone know what model of Dana it would be and if a NP205 is stronger or not?

Thanks,
Andy:help: :metal:

More than likely it's a Dana 20 T-case. They were used alot in Jeeps and early Broncos. To me the NP205 is the best case ever built...

I would expect it's a Dana 20. Do have a 3 speed standard tranny on the column blazer? Thats what Mine has.
205 is stronger I would say..but your looking at buying more than the transfer case for the swap. You'll need the adapter also. perhops drive shaft lenght changes also..not sure on that ...forget for now.

My truck is a 4 speed (granny low). I have another transmission and 205 tcase from my old 77 3/4 ton truck I'll use for the swap.
