is my rear positive?
anyway to tell from vin# or build code if it has posi or not?it was originally a diesel.i guess i could do it the old fashioned way 1 black stripe or two?the diesel has been yanked and an 90 iroc 350 is in it's place.so it likes to lay it down on occasion.:cool:

Black stripes are fun, but you can find out for less. Jack the rear up so both tires are off the ground. Rotate one tire. If the other tire turns the same direction, you have a 'positive rear'. If the other tire rotates the opposit direction, you have an 'open rear'.
BTW, the way your question is stated could lead to real interesting responses. But I guess you already knew that. |

no..no..no i'm a happily MARRIED man.to a beautiful woman{anymore you have to clarify that too i guess} i'm just bored here in the pouring down rain.thought somebody had a diesel that may of had posi or there was an vin code that let you know.also trying to trace cab leaks in the rain,but thats another post.

G80 will be listed in the options sheet in the glove box. If the limited slip is worn out, the above method doesn't work.

If you can find the code but not the description for some reason, GU4 is the 3.08 non-posi.

Peg-legs can leave two stripes if the tires are loaded just right.
