daily amount of Fiber
Allright, I am thinking about getting some fiberglass front peices for my truck, hood, fenders, maybe bumper. Does anyone know of anyone that makes these? How is the fit and qauility? Any pro's and con's? I know that all of y'all have opions so lets hear 'em. And this truck will be a street/strip ride.

USBody.com, or UP22.com
If you glass the front end, that will give way to quite a bit of substantial weight loss...like probably 100lbs...(Hood/Fenders/Bumper) |

Re: daily amount of Fiber
DON'T get UP22 parts unless you are doing it only for weight reduction. they are poor fitting and light. I have a usbody tilt for mine and the quality is very good, I highly recommend it. It isn't installed yet though.

What about innerfender wells? I heard something about you can use any because the fiber is not strong enough to hold them?

Re: daily amount of Fiber
My current plan it to either use metal inners or fiberglass the usbody ones into the tilt. Haven't decided.

I agree with this. I purchased a cowl hood for my Nova and the price isn't bad but the fit and finish lacks. After hours and hours of adjusting the front sheet metal I still have a rather large gap at the back of the hood at the cowl. That's about as good as it'll get with out adding fiberglass. On top of that the underside of the hood is unfinished (see pics). Also I'm not to fond of the bracing that goes right through the middle of the hood. I have seen other companies make the brace contour to the hood. It just isn't worth all the extra work just to save a little bit of money. Now I am ranting. |
