1 ton dual rear brakes

I finally got around to getting the rear drums off the full floating rear axle on my 80 gmc dually 1 ton. My question is, is there any point in greasing the bearings they seem to be submerged in axle grease??? I do need to replace the wheel seal and brake shoes that are worn badly. When reinstalling are they tightened in the same way that the front drums would be??? Thanks for the help.:bowtie:

i am guessing you already have the truck together, but i figured i would reply to day they rear bearings do not need grease. they are lubricated by the 80-90.

Thanks for the reply I did find out you are correct and it all seemed to work that way. The job went excellent and I won't wait so long to recheck the brakes next time. My fault. Thanks Ed ke6bnl
