Windshield gasket and trim
How are the reproduction windshield gaskets and stainless trim? Any particular source better? Thanks, I am a bit afraid of 20+ year old NOS rubber.

From what I gather, you get what you pay for. I have to replace mine also, I plan on ordering mine from GMCPauls.

Re: Windshield gasket and trim
Not sure if the ones on the shelf at GM are over 20 yrs old, but I have read a few times on here that the dealership gaskets work much better than the repos do. That being said, I bought an aftermarket one and was assured by Scotts Super Trucks that it will work fine, but I will have to wait until spring to find out.

Re: Windshield gasket and trim
I bought mine from "Impala Bobs", before I knew about any other vendors selling them. I think most vendors get them from the same place, (at least that's what I've been told). It worked good, but the rubber didn't seat inside the top left corner. It's not a true mitered corner, so it sticks out a bit. Now, that might have been the glass company (Safelite) that installed it, didn't line it up right. Still, it's not noticeable unless you look. I know the guy that was installing it, *****ed about the stainless trim going in the rubber. Other than that, fits pretty good and without any leaks.

Re: Windshield gasket and trim
I have tried a brand " Precision" and it works well.
